Banana Republic: Simply Sophisticated

As with most people, dressing during the summer is simple, practical and relaxed. For me, this means mixing lighter and more comfortable fabrics together with easier, casual layering. To stay cool and comfortable, I choose to wear madras, linen and seersucker fabrics for almost all summer occasions. I pair them with pants, jackets or lightweight suits and with non-distracting shirts. And even though I’m thetieguy, I seldom wear ties when it’s hot outside.

This outfit is a perfect look for a night out for drinks or a casual summer event. My green cotton blazer coordinates nicely with both the denim pants and my shoes. I chose to wear a less formal shoe with this outfit, instead of my usual double monk strap or dress shoe.  It’s a nice change to wear something a little more casual and summer dressing is a good time to change it up.  The denim of these pants is a great color of indigo and the lightweight cotton fabric is really easy to cuff. The pockets are clean and are non-distracting which, personally, I prefer. And because of the low pocket profile, these pants are light and comfortable and fit my body well.  To finish the look, and keeping with the casual layering style, I tipped a lightweight and linen pocket square.
